Hello parents and students,
A lot has changed in the last few weeks.  It is normal for you to be feeling anxiety over the uncertainty that this period of time seems to come with.  McAllen ISD administrators, teachers, and staff are working diligently to provide you with all of the resources you will need during this period of academic distance learning.  Please use this counseling page to navigate through various academic and social-emotional pages that might assist you in understanding what you're feeling.  Know that you are not alone in what you are experiencing, and we are here to assist every step of the way.  Our priority is ensuring that parents and students feel supported-even if it is at a distance.  This is new territory for all of us-just as you are experiencing the anxiety of having to be home and possibly having to help teach your child, teachers and administrators are also new to having to work from home and develop programs to teach via distance learning.  We hope to overcome this together and come out stronger than before-as we are all having to reinvent ourselves.
Please reach out to us via email or google voice.  We will be checking our emails regularly and expect to get back to you within 24 hours.  Brenda Gloria - and Irasema Alvarado
